I was a member from the site’s first month - I have no recollection of how I heard about it. I invited dozens of friends in turn. It was such a lovely way to connect during lockdown, learn about others’ worlds and generally feel less alone, especially at a time when we were seeing so much concentrated negativity and suffering. Even once we were venturing out of our holes, it remained a place for connecting as humans across time and space, and learning about each other. It’s been a place where people have made such an effort to be decent, kind and curious with each other for the most part, and to appreciate whatever people brought to the mix. I’ll miss it, and send my sincere gratitude to the founder and everyone else who gave up time, energy and probably sanity to keep the group going for so long. It was worth it.

I joined this fabulous group in April 2020 & looking at the views & reading the messages from around the world quickly became the highlight of my day during those pandemic years. It made such a difference then & I have continued to enjoy it right until the end. Thank you Barbara for your inspirational idea & to everyone involved, both mediators & contributors.

I stumbled across vfmw accidentally and was immediately attracted by all the photos. It was like im living around the world, in a different home. I cant pinpoint what was that feeling when i see all those photos, but i love it!

The most beautiful group on Facebook, it gave peace without bog words, just by showing pictures from al over the world. Loved in. Wonder a bit why it stops because the founder quits...why the admins had to make another group.
But however: it's a good thing we can continue in another way.
