Dear Barbara and Team, you did SO much for this world during a very scary time. Who knew that we could all be brought closer together as a result. I had the great honor, also, of having a photo about my beloved heart dog (Holly) and her passing on Easter appear in the first edition and in the Japanese version. That so many many people learned of her is so deeply soothing to my heart. This was just one of truly millions of awe inspiring things you accomplished for us all. Much love, Diane

The Covid-lockdown was a never-seen-before event ! It was an incredible period with big consequences for a lot of people... The world needed solidarity and emotional sharing... Barbara Duriau offered us the opportunity to share our stories and view-travelling with this group on FB ! Thank you Barbara for this and the creative name of the group 🙏🏼

Thank you for your hard work in putting together VFMW. For those of us who survived (and many did not, worldwide, due to a deadly new virus) we will not forget this time. And yet, this virus brought the world together in a unique way as it leveled the playing field; no one was immune. And sharing the view from our own windows as this virus raged & ravaged, brought us together as well. Your endeavor brought us humanity, light and beauty in an historic time in the world. Thank you again, Barbara and your team. And Welcome to the REST of your life! Enjoy.

Cela me fera des souvenirs!

Every view was beautiful in its own way. So were the contributors - and the people who ran the site. Such a lovely idea to help us all remain connected during the pandemic. Thank you.

I joined View From My Window in April of 2020. It helped each day as we all stayed at home. Our members supported each other and shared our stories throughout these very difficult times. We shared losses and joys and opened the world for each other when we were all closed in. Thank you so much to all of the admin and volunteers who helped bring joy and affirmation to so many during these challenging times. So very sorry it was a heavy burden even while giving such joy. I much appreciate your gifts to all of us. May you find as much joy as you have given to the millions here that you helped. Peace be with you. ❤️

Grazie per questa esperienza! Thank you all for making me travel around the world and be part of an instant of your life.! amazing how little we know about the other side of the globe and how little thing such as a pic, but well organized, can make us feeling closer. Perhaps more projects like this would even reduce wars? Thank you Barbara for the idea

A friend at work told me about this page. It looked good, so I joined up. I would scroll through and read some lovely stories of complete strangers and their lives, told in just a few words. The most moving of those was from a lady who posted a picture of her friend's back garden, from the kitchen doorway, where she & her friend has spent hours chatting, reading, sharing a wine and enjoying each others company. Her friend had just passed away and she was closing up the house for the last time. It was so moving and from then on I was addicted. Thank you to everyone for sharing your views. I wish you all an abundance of happiness wherever you are in our beautiful world. Take care xx

What a wonderful experience to have been a part of View from my Window during the pandemic. It created a sense of belonging yet we were isolated. Human touch could be felt though virtual. A phenomenon of the visual and emotional testimonial of a world presence. Truly amazing. Much continued love ❤️ to all!

I posted in early April 2020. A view of my Gloucestershire garden and willow tree. I never knew if it made it out there but I came to love tge images so much. For some reason, Belgium was particularly lovely. It was always exciting to see more distant countries. Qikiqtarjuaq was a highlight. As I had a broken ankle, it was especially lovely to travel with VFMW. Enjoyed tHe book later too. And seeing images from Ukraine and Russia felt very important when that conflict came.
