I want to thank everyone who was apart of making View From My Window so wonderful. I was lucky to be able to join early; from those first days, when we were all feeling trapped and scared, to today when we can once again travel beyond those doors and windows. You helped us to remember that we were not alone, that there was still a sense of community and caring. You brought absolutely strangers, from around the world, together in joy, and curiosity, and interconnectedness. That was a beautiful gift. As sad as we may be, this is not goodbye, this is see you again someday. Now is the time for us to step out of our front doors, you never know where you may end up.

Thank you everyone! Thank you founder for starting, running and taking care of VFMW. Thank you to everyone who shared and commented and questioned. It was fun to see how life around the world looks. I was inspired, jealous, captivated. I looked up countries, investigated housing costs, I questioned would I, could I? I shared, I told co-workers, I told strangers. This was a fun few years and ... well, thank you.

This community kept me grounded during the pandemic and fed my love of travel. I cannot tell you how much this has meant to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to this community.

This has been a wonderful Facebook page, thank you 😊 It brought such joy and connection during a dark time for us all, but we felt united through this experience. I've loved looking at views from other countries and hearing people's stories. Fascinating and a great learning experience.

I joined this group about a week after it was formed and I have thoroughly enjoyed every photo posted. I feel like I have seen the world through the eyes of everyday people and not as a tourist. ALL the views were beautiful, each in their own way. It was never a contest to see who had the most beautiful view - wherever your home is, there is beauty. I give highest praise to the administrators of this group - the workload had to be overwhelming, and yet you kept the views coming day after day to feed our souls. For that I am grateful. You made a difference in a lot of lives by starting and continuing this. I will miss seeing ordinary days and ordinary lives around this amazing planet we live together on. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You may now live your lives knowing you carry our gratitude with you.

This group was one of the most amazing events of my lifetime! Beautiful reminder of how close we are as human in this big but at the same time small planet of ours! Blessings to all the “friends” we made along the way! 💜

I posted my entry 5/19/20 in the early days of COVID. Just about everyday, I checked out the beautiful entires from near and far. This site and my dog helped me thru the deep dark days of COVID; as a nurse, I worked in bed management at a tertiary care hospital. Everyday we got calls from nearby large and smaller hospitals looking for an ICU bed for a COVID patient. My prayers for those who have died if Covid and their families.
