So happy to have found this group. The world is far from me. The world is different. But, I learned that we are so much alike and so close to each other. Thank you for sharing your views and your stories. I looked forward to it each day. Wishing you all much happiness and may you be blessed with beautiful views!

Cette page a été précieuse, une vraie fenêtre sur le monde qui m'a enchantée et régalée. Je suis triste qu'elle disparaisse mais surtout je veux dire ma gratitude à ceux qui lui ont permis d'exister. C'était magique et magnifique.

My health unravelled in the 2 months just before Covid closed down the world.
As VFMW took off, I was out of work, on immunocompromising medications, home alone with an unhappy spouse, lonely and very afraid.
I submitted a picture, and waited until January of 2021 to see it published. My health went up and down; my marriage did the same. From April of 2020 to March of 2023, via VFMW, I saw exotic and ordinary photos from around the globe, had fascinating and funny conversations with people all over the world--and a few in my own "backyard." In the spring of 2021, I got to meet in person one of those "backyard neighbors" VFMW introduced me to through her photo/story on the site---a young, gifted singer-songwriter. I got to attend her concerts in person and online. Her joyful music still blesses me!
I became a grandmother. I traveled a little. Had a brain tumor removed. Received 5 Covid vaccines, had a mild case of Covid and recovered. Bought two VFMW books, celebrated my grand daughter's first birthday, watched my daughter get married. Took a break from FB. Got back on it. Kept watching the views. Kept loving the sights I got to see through VFMW.As VFMW closes, so, sadly, does my long marriage, but just as the door to my pre-Covid life is closing, new doors and windows to the world and a new life are opening.
How true this is for many of us touched by VFMW!
What a gift Barbara, all of the administrators and members' photos gave us.
A window, a lifeline, a virtual escape from the fear and loneliness.
A breath of fresh air when we felt closed in and alone.

During very bleak times, we were all able to take a journey around the world through many magical windows. We relied on VFMW to distance ourselves from the reality of the time. It served to calm our nerves in so many ways, and we all became addicted to this wonderful outlet for our emotions…and fears. It was just what we needed at just the right time. The windows are all open now, the pandemic is over, and it’s the perfect time to say thank you to all who put so much effort and time into it’s creation and maintenance. We will forever be grateful, and somehow we will survive our VFMW addiction!

I enjoyed participating in this group and seeing all the wonderful view’s from around the world. When I was young, my dream was to be a photographer for National Geographic and although that never happened, it fueled my love of all the beautiful places from all around the world. So many fascinating places, so little time! My love to all my neighbors around the world! Until the next time….

View from my window has a special place in my heart and I shall miss it dearly. I was always a bit jealous that I myself didn't conceive such a concept. It was simultaneously connection, love, and traveling, especially at a time we were home-bound; but beyond that too. It was the highlight of each and every day of my life for three years. I can only imagine the hard work behind this endeavour and need to say with all my heart: THANK YOU ALL; I WILL MISS YOU! May you have a wonderful life, and even more precious ideas. "Take care and stay safe".

Thank you for letting us peer through far more interesting windows than our own! You gave loneliness the elbow for many during the lockdowns of the pandemic and we have your two beautiful books to help us remember this historic period. Be proud 👏

I am so grateful to this group! My husband passed away right before the pandemic in August 2019, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer right after, going through chemotherapy and radiation through the pandemic. I was residing alone in a farm, and this group was my go-to for relaxation and inspiration. Thank you!
